Rossendale Responsible Rescue

We are a small group of passionate animal lovers and volunteers based in and around the beautiful Rossendale Valley in the North West.

Welcome to Rossendale Responsible Rescue

We’re dedicated to helping animals in need by offering rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming services, along with advice and support for local pet owners. Our volunteers take on a range of roles including foster care (short and long term), home checks, lost pet searches, transport, fundraising, and even basic training and socialisation.

We don’t charge for our services, though adoption fees help us cover veterinary treatments and everyday costs. Every penny we raise goes directly towards the animals — from urgent medical care to neutering and vaccinations. Thanks to ongoing community support, we’ve even been able to start saving dogs from local pounds before they’re put to sleep.

Rossendale Responsible Rescue has grown rapidly over the past few years thanks to the amazing dedication of our volunteers.

Our Community Projects

Rossendale Responsible Pet Forum – a friendly place to share advice, hints, photos, and updates about local pets, as well as details of fundraising events and microchipping days.
Rossendale Missing Pets – helping reunite lost pets with their families by sharing pictures, locations, and practical guidance.
Rossendale Responsible Pet Register – where owners can register their pets’ details to make reuniting them faster and easier if they ever go missing.
Rossendale Responsible Animal Rescue – listings of animals currently looking for their forever homes. Every adoption includes a successful home check and trial period to ensure the best match for both pet and owner.
RRAR Auctions & Fundraisers – from fun runs to charity auctions, we’re always raising funds for microchip scanners, neutering, and medical care. So far, we’ve purchased six scanners and trained volunteers to chip animals in the local area.
